  • Thermostat Christians are Christians not by name only, but by works as well. James says in James 2:17, “Faith without works is dead.”

  • Thermostat Christians make a change in the temperature of their environment.

  • When backbiting begins, they refrain and instead use edifying words.

  • When confronted with anger, they answer softly and not in wrath.

  • They walk to the beat of the Holy Spirit.

  • They are the ones who walk an extra mile for the church.

  • They are the ones who would wake early in the morning to open the church, and they leave last to make sure that everything is in order.

  • They are the ones that stand out from among the crowd.

  • When they pray, they don’t pray like the Pharisees, but they pray like the tax collector, and yet God is able to hear their prayers.

  • In book Education, page 57 it says, “The world’s greatest need, the world’s greatest want is the want of men, men who will not be bought or sold; men who in their inmost souls are true and honest; men who do not fear to call sin by its right name; men whose conscience is as true to duty as the needle is to the pole; men who will stand for the right though the heavens fall.”

In our next article we will look at how to become a Thermostat Christian.
